During the Kent Ponds (GRNRA) survey this morning, we had a presumed
intergrade Northern Flicker: red-shafted but with both red malar and
nape. Face was gray except for tan area that totally surrounded the eye.

Also, two Hermit Thrushes, one with a very yellow-cream wash under the
throat spots; the other was essentially white under the spots. Is throat
color related to maturity or just natural variation?
