Well, I've been gone a lot today, but when I've been home I have seen in the yard:

male Hairy Woodpecker, only the second one I've seen in the yard in 19 years

two Pileated Woodpeckers, first time ever two in the yard at once

a Hermit Thrush, first time I've seen one in the yard in winter

male Varied Thrush, not so unusual but only occasionally seen this fall

a half-dozen European Starlings, when there have been only the occasional sighting of single birds before this

Interestingly, last winter we had two Townsend's Warblers, but there seem to be none this winter.
