Hi Tweets,

The Fox Sparrows have been around my yard for the last several weeks
(an indicator of winter for me) but the snow finally made a few
thrushes appear. This morning (11-23-10) I had the first Hermit
Thrush of the season and first Varied Thrush. It was fun to see a
male Anna's on a higher branch of my vine maple tree with the Hermit
Thrush on a lower branch. By keeping my hummingbird feeder in the
refrigerator last night, I was able to get it out this morning
without its freezing. So far today, so good. The two boys in my
neighborhood have been able to get lots of sugar water between what I
put out and what one of the neighbor's puts out. Glad they survived
the night of temperatures in the teens.
