I just got a phone call from our son who said that at about 4:30 PM an adult BROWN PELICAN landed in the parking lot of the old Fred Meyer's store across the street from the Washington department of Fish & Wildlife offices on Grand Avenue in Vancouver. It then flew up and landed on the store roof before disappearing from sight. Something else to watch for in the local area. Wilson Cady

In addition to the very cooperative Snow Bunting, there was a lone AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN circling at 3 pm above Rest Lake on the River S Unit of Ridgefield NWR in Clark County.
