For the fourth year in a row we have a White-throated Sparrow in our yard on
Bainbridge Island. Our abode sits on a 1/2-acre lot with mostly native
plants in Winslow, about 200 meters from the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal

We started feeding birds shelled sunflower seeds when the snow fell, and
this morning house guest and close pal David Armstrong (a great birder, and
director of UW?s school of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences) spotted a very
attractive male just feet from our front bank of windows.

What a superb specimen this one is, with black eye stripes, white crown and
supercilium, yellow lores, the white throat like snow flake bordered by a
black whiskers.
