Subject: [Tweeters] Bohemian Waxwing photos;imm. Northern Shrike also at
Magnuson

Howdy,

After sending my last message to Tweeters, I returned to Magnuson Park this
morning (11/27/10) to find the sun shining and Gregg Thompson photographing
the Bohemian Waxwings just south of the Kite Hill parking lot. I joined him
and for the next 20 minutes or so the birds were very cooperative. During
that time, it started to cloud over again, so the color in a lot of my shots
is a bit flat, but all things considered, I shouldn't complain -- I still
got my best-ever BOWA photos. I think Gregg did, too. Our fun ended when
an immature Northern Shrike appeared in a nearby tree and the waxwing flock
left to find a safer place. (They did return about 30 minutes later.)

I put a bunch of photos here: http://www.zbirdtours.com/bowa.htm

The top count was 16 Bohemians, by the way.
