Hi all:

It has been ages since I've seen a peregrine on one of the light standards on the Aurora Bridge, but I have had several sightings in the past 2 or 3 months on one of the Fremont transmission towers (usually the north tower) a little west of the Aurora Bridge. This was prior to the recent addition of various structures and wires to the top of these towers. How good a view I have depends on which bus I'm taking to or from my job downtown. Most of my sightings have been in the morning.
The Aurora Bridge is between two breeding territories, but this is also the time of year that both juvenile and adult non-residents are in the city, some wintering here and some passing through. I would love to hear about other sightings.
Look for Merlins on the Aurora Bridge light standards, too.

Twice in the last week, including today, I've seen what I think is a Peregrine Falcon perched on one of the light standards on the Aurora Bridge. Of course, I was driving at the times and didn't have binocs, but the medium size, the shape, darkish-gray back, and "mask" on the face all seemed pretty apparent in the quick looks I got. If anyone else drives that daily, keep your eyes peeled. I'd love to hear confirmation.

Both times I saw it, there was a conspicuous absence of the usual pigeons on other light standards.
