Hello Tweeters,
Yesterday after our birdying in Nisqually,3 of us Shep our leader in
Nisqually and an expert on Gulls,Matt and I decided to driving to Point
Defiance
Park to looking for the Sabine's Gull. The Tide was real high already when
we got there. On our first look out we had a large group of Bonaparte's
Gulls, but non had some of the main futures of the Sabine's Gull,as we
looked them over carefully. So we went all the way to the point looking back
,we saw the rough current and many more Boneparte's Gulls .So we hiked back
and went to the outlook across the bathrooms.Shep with his eagle eyes
spotted the bird flying close where we was.We had great looks ,but we lost
the bird always on and off.The bird was first sighted at 3.30 close to 4.00
PM and we stayed a while to watch the bird,
I believe this is the second sighting for Pierce County. It was the time in
October to November 2002 that there was an invasion of Ancient was sighted
at Dash Point close to the Boardwalk,There Patrick and I ad a Sabine's Gull
flying around.
