I had not realized that Western Grebes were
unusual at Greenlake. I walked around Greenlake
on Sunday this week and saw a total of 5 birds.
At that time, four were in the middle of the lake
and another was where Bill described it at the
north end, very close to shore. Not a whole lot
else there at the time, some mallards and two
female mergansers and two gadwalls, a great blue
heron plus a number of coots and gulls that I did
not check to identify.
