Hello all,
We started our day at the Dodd road blood ponds in western Walla Walla county with our first RUFF of the day - thank you Bob for letting us know it was still there. There were also 12 Pectoral Sandpipers, 2 Western and 1 Least Sandpipers, 2 Black-bellied Plovers, a Merlin and then a Sharp-shinned Hawk chased up the birds. A Lincoln's Sparrow and 3 Savannah Sparrows were also present.
At the Walla Walla River Delta with very high water:
Franklin's Gull - 1
Eared Grebe - 4
Long-billed Dowitchers - 11 flying around
Killdeer - 1

At the willow pullout west of Port Kelley:
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER - 1 adult female - county year bird #250! This bird flew downriver into Umatilla county but we never did refind it.
Common Loon - 3 in Umatilla Co. on the Columbia River

Cold Springs NWR east of Hermiston in Umatilla County, OR:
RUFF - 1 subadult bird - a big Thanks to Aaron Skirvin for discovering and reporting this bird - an OR state bird for us!
Long-billed Dowitcher - 77
Pectoral Sandpiper - 10
Bonaparte's Gull - 1
Prairie Falcon - 1
Killdeer - 450
Black-bellied Plover - 4
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1
Osprey - 1

Has anyone ever seen 2 Ruffs in one day in two states?
Thats all for now, M&M
