Yesterday, October 9, I birded Mystery Bay SP (Jefferson County). A surprise NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD appeared. I had the bird face-to-face in the dead tree between the parking lot and the North-runnig spit. It also was giving the standard NOMO "chack" call continuously. I sprinted to the car for the camera and though I heard several more "chacks" around the parking lot, I could not relocate the bird visually. There is a house on the other side of a fence South of the parking area with many apple trees and Raspberry bushes. The yard and trees were with Robins, Waxwings, Flickers, and Juncos - I believe the NOMO moved into there but the fence obscured the viewing.

Also present were seven Sparrow species including an adult WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, which I was able to photo, posted on the Flickr site below.
