Subject: [Tweeters] Veery on Whidbey Island?

Yesterday I was birding at the Earth Sanctuary on Whidbey Island, when I
observed what I think may have been a veery. This seems outside the
normal range for this species so I wanted to see if this was a plausible
sighting; maybe a migratory bird? The bird was very reddish-brown with
no difference in color between the back and tail like I would expect on
a hermit thrush. There was limited spotting - mostly on the chin - and
the eye ring was very faint and almost indistinguishable. Any thoughts
about the likelihood of this being a veery would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
