Hi Tweeters -

Had a great trip 10/4-10/8 along Hwy 20. At Ross Lake Resort 3 days then on to Mazama and Wenatchee. Spectacular weather until return on 10/8.

Along the way, a herd of around 30 elk at Hurn Field - one male w/ 4 point plus eyeguards lying among the group

10/5 from boat from Ross Lake Resort up to Devils Creek - lake like glass

many (groups of 50+) Western Grebes (not sure if Clark's Grebes in group)
couple of Common Loons - one right near dock at May's Creek
5-6 Common Merganser's sunning on rock
Bald Eagle (one - resident)
Osprey
Belted Kingfisher
Song Sparrow
possible female Wood Duck...guessing
American Dipper - out back of cabin and at Mazama - on creek/Methow River at Freestone Inn (fascinating to watch - amazing they don't get swept down stream!)
heard nuthatches - not sure if they were red or white breasted.
lots of dragonflies - mostly darners

Heard Northern Pygmy Owl (?) at Rockport campground parking lot -
Ravens
heard Towhees

Yesterday in backyard - had Yellow Shafted Flicker (yellow under tail and wings)
