First of all, thanks to all of you who provided good suggestions on where
and how to find a GC Sparrow in Seattle.

I spent a couple of hours at the Fill yesterday, but with no success, so I
tried the south end of Discovery Park this am. Just when the birds were
starting to wake up and move around near the parking lot, a couple of
noisy machines arrived and scared them away.

After looking through the blackberries along the trails west of the
buildings with no luck, I headed back to the car. What should greet me on
the fence next to the parking lot, but two of my target birds! One was a
male in partial breeding plumage, which was a most pleasant surprise at
this time of year.

Good birding to all!
