Exactly a week ago I rescued a Northern Saw-whet Owl from the middle of the street in my north Seattle neighborhood. I volunteer at Sarvey Wildlife (www.sarveywildlife.org) and the clinic director told me there has been an unusually high number of Saw-whets brought in this fall. The bird I brought in was in good condition but did have a bruised ear. I expect to release him soon but in a safer area.
