Spent most of the day working both ends of Riffe Lake today. I started at the east end, where it continues to be productive and exciting. The two inner ponds are rapidly diminishing, but they had good shorebird activity today. Six species of shorebirds, and the best was a single DUNLIN. The CLARK'S GREBE is still being seen with the largest raft of WESTERN GREBES. I saw it in the cove from Taidnapum Park boat launch.
The west end of the lake was not as exciting, but it still has potential for some good birds to show up.
