Hi,

Yesterday, 10/27, I took a walk around Waughop Lake in Ft. Steilacoom Park in Lakewood. In the large flock of ducks (200+) was a single male Canvasback. Most of the ducks were Ring-necks and Scaup, with a much smaller number of Ruddy Ducks, and a few Gadwall. Also, at least 5 Pied-billed Grebes were on the lake.

In University Place, at the central meadow next to the Chambers Bay golf course, a Cooper's Hawk has been hanging out lately. Also, the Brandt's Cormorants that roost on the old gravel pit pilings have returned.

And at Titlow Park in Tacoma, the Eurasian Wigeon is back, with the usual flock of Americans.
