Tweeters,

A few pairs of Tufted Puffins used to nest regularly on Colville Island, off
the south end of Lopez. Can anyone confirm whether they have done so in
recent years? Puffins used to nest regularly in very small numbers, 30 or 40
years ago, at several locations in the San Juans and in the BC Gulf Islands,
but my understanding is that they are now much scarcer as a breeding bird in
this area than they used to be.

Hi,

Yesterday my wife and I and out of country visitor observed a brief look at
a Tufted Puffin. We were on one of the Whalke-watching boats out of
Anancortes.

Lots of Orcas - and hundred of Common Murres.

Cheers and Good Birding.
