Hello Tweeters,
Loren Webster and I birdied Ocean Shores and TOKELAND today,
Best bird was the Bar-tailed Godwit in breeding plumage on a high tide.As we
came to the Marina in Tokeland all the birds was in the air flying around
about 650 Godwits, most birds landed on the jetty but 40 birds settled by the
old house on the beach ,where the grass is.In the middle of the group I saw
a bird with a big white supercilian and some roost colored partly breast,he
seems much smaller in the group.I walked the stairs in the trailer park to
get closer to the group, few birds again flying to the jetty. Now I had a
great view of this bird my first BAR-TAILED GODWIT in
breeding Plumage,in all the many years seeing so many Bar-tailed Godwit's
I taken many so good photos of this bird In the end he flew also joining
the group at the jetty. There I REALLY SAW THE WHITE RUMP!!!!!!
We looked all over for the RUFF in Ocean Shores with no result. We started at
10.00 AM TO 3.00 PM
