Hi Tweets,

Morning low tides this week have offered good birding from the
Edmonds ferry dock north to the Shell Creek spit. I was finally able
to make the walk this morning (9-10-10) along with a friend. We
started by scoping the Sound from the jetty at Brackett's Landing
North before heading north along the beach. Here are today's birds:

American Wigeon
Surf Scoter
Double-crested Cormorant
Pelagic Cormorant
Great Blue Heron
Accipiter (sp.) (1)
Peregrine Falcon (1)
Killdeer
Sanderling
Western Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper (1)
Long-billed Dowitcher (1)
Bonaparte's Gull
Heermann's Gull
Mew Gull
California Gull
Glaucous-winged Gull
Caspian Tern
Common Tern
Pigeon Guillemot
Marbled Murrelet (1)
Rhinoceros Auklet
Rock Pigeon
Crow
Black-capped Chickadee
Savannah Sparrow
House Sparrow

Other species seen this week along the beach include Horned Grebe,
Osprey, Black-bellied Plover, Spotted Sandpiper, Belted Kingfisher,
Purple Finch, and lots of Barn Swallows heading south.
