I birded my way up to Ritzville today for a wedding. A stop at Rock Creek Cove in Skamania County produced a breeding plumage SANDERLING, a first for the county record. At Crow Butte Park in Benton County there was one GREAT EGRET. At the Hatton Coulee Rest Area in Adams County there was one PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER and two TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS in the trees and two PECTORAL SANDPIPERS in the wastewater ponds. During the wedding, also in Adams County, I was treated to great views of a LEWIS'S WOODPECKER, TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE and WILSON'S WARBLER. I would love to have the opportunity to check the plantings around many of the ranches to see what they may have attracted.
