Hi all,

Just wanted to announce the release of Bird Feathers: A Guide to North American
Species. Bird Feathers is the very first North American field guide dedicated
solely to the identification of feathers. The guide includes photographs of the
flight and body feathers of around 400 species and trains readers to use feather
morphology and coloration to identify loose feathers found in the field.

Bird Feathers can now be purchased on Amazon. Your local book store should be
receiving copies within a week so ask for it. Autographed copies can also be
purchased directly from the authors by e-mailing me at dscottmp at yahoo.com.

My co-author and I will be giving a free talk on bird feather identification at
REI Seattle on Monday October 4th from 7-9pm. Hope you can make it! There will
also be autographed field guidesfor sale at the REI talk.

Bird Feathers now has a page on Facebook. Check out the page for updates on
author talks, book signings, and tips on feather identification. Feel free to
post photos and feather ID questions for the authors on the site.

To birds!
