Hi Tweeters,

I had been hoping to be able to observe some Jaeger and non-Caspian Tern action
this fall migration, so I went up to Edmonds about 9 this morning, inspired by
posts from Carol Riddell and others.

Off Sunset Ave, just to the north of the ferry dock, about 5 Common Terns were
fishing (I think a mix of adults and juvs), and 1 perched on some floating
debris. Having never seen them before, it was fun to observe how tiny and
maneuverable they are! A Caspian Tern flew by as well.

Off Water St. and Ocean Ave. (type in to google maps), a scan of the water to
the north produced an adult Parasitic Jaeger floating nearby various gulls
including Bonaparte's and Heerman's, periodically flying around and
half-heartedly chasing them.

It was high tide when I went. A scope was required to appreciate these birds.
