Tweets,

I ran into Adam, Penny, and Scott et al. south of Vantage and learned of the
Red-eyed Vireo at Wanapam State Park so mosied on down for a picnic there.
Only three birds altogether, each of which popped up uninvited in the coyote
willows near our picnic table, a RED-EYED VIREO, then a WARBLING VIREO (then
the Red-eyed again to be sure), then an empidonax flycatcher with a snappy
upwards tail way, big head, neat white eye-ring, contrasting wing panel, and
short, broad bill all yellow below: a LEAST FLYCATCHER.

Otherwise it proved to be rather quiet. Nancy and I decided to call it a day
and drove back to Seattle.

Brien Meilleur and I then chased the two Northern Waterthrush reports from
the past two days, at the Boeing Ponds and at Twin Lakes in Federal Way.
Both were no-shows, but Brien picked out a male YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD at
the Emerald Downs sewage ponds (visible through the fence from the parking
lots north of the race track). We also heard a SORA there.

Later I went to Magnuson Park and the PECTORAL SANDPIPER Dennis Paulson
reported yesterday was still there, with a GREATER YELLOWLEGS on the big
westernmost pond. An immature COOPER'S HAWK was keeping watch.
