hello everyone,

after a loooong period of negotiations, it's finally reality: i am thrilled
to tell you that my blog has relocated to The Guardian! The Guardian is one
of the national newspapers in the UK and they have been most eager to host
my blog on their site so as of 31 August, I renamed my blog "Punctuated
Equilibrium" and relocated there. Because I just returned from traveling,
it's taken until today to get the first Mystery Bird published on my
Guardian site, but it's there now, waiting for you to take a peek:

The Guardian requested that I include some of my previous essays that I've
written in the past so I dug up several "birdie" blog essays that you might
enjoy, especially if you missed them when they originally were published.

If you have comments, feel free to post them on the blog or email me. I
already have one essay series that I plan to write, thanks to a reader
