A friend and I hiked the Mt. Rose trail, near Lake Cushman in Olympic National Forest yesterday. Birds were for the most part few and far between, but when we got to the top of Mt. Rose, we saw 2 Pine Grosbeaks, a male and female. We also saw 3 Sooty Grouse on the way back down the trail.
