Hello Tweeters,
I took a trip to the Ocean for 2 days Sunday & Monday,Since I did getting in
the door I would only report from the Bar-tailed Godwit.Sunday late
afternoon I found the BAR-tailed GODWIT'S among the huge group of 500
birds.I did had no trouble at all picking this bird out ,he wandered around
a bit My photos on Sunday are to dark,but I went again today on my way home
,and took a lot of more photos in better light.Even so the group flew twice
in the Air for some reason there settled down and with no trouble I found
the bird.The tip I like to share some tip how to find this bird easier,first
not using a high power Binoculars,you are so close on this bird.He is easier
to find him,(yes it is a male Bar-tailed Godwit) because he is so
small,again I took lot's of photos standing close with the Marbled Godwit.I
picked this bird out this looking for a smaller bird among the big Marbled
.Most of the time he is staying in between ,he got the darkest mantle from
all other birds.Also his head is gray,and when he turns you can see a little
of the Supercilian.I watched this bird for 2 hours,since I did not saw this
bird on my first sighting very long .And on Sunday I got there to late the
tide was all the way in,e,to playing it safe enough time for 2 photos.It is
really worth going to see this bird since we not getting this species all
the time in breeding plumage.I probable be there on Wednesday again,high
tide is at 6.19 PM in the evening.It is only a 75.tide,but plying it safe
3.00 hours before high tide.
On Sunday in the rain and fog I found 2 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS in the
company of a Pectoral and a Greater Yellowlegs
