The early goose hunting season is indeed in full swing for Grays Harbor
County (Goose Management Area 3) as well as Pacific and other counties.
Legal goose hunting can and is allowed from September 10-15, 2010 in Grays
Harbor between the hours of 0610 (6:10 AM) and 1935 (7:35 PM) (10th - 12th)
and 0615 (6:15 AM) and 1920 (7:20 PM) (13th - 15th). See pages 12 and 51 of
the Washington State Migratory Waterfowl & Upland Game Seasons pamphlet
which can be viewed online at
http://wdfw.wa.gov/publications/01016/wdfw01016.pdf . The regulation for
early goose is that only CANADA geese can be taken; no Greater
White-fronted, Brant, Snow, etc. but any Canada goose species or subspecies
is permitted. Bag limit is 5 per day. Sorry for the disruption to
shorebird viewing.
