Scriber Lake has been very good to me this summer.? In addition to the usual
Stellar's?jays, robins, and chickadees,?I photographed the following birds
there.???


Green heron: I have photgraphed single birds on three occasions and
caught?three?juvies?together on one occasion.

Cooper's hawk:? I photographed four juvies, which I assume were nest mates,?on
two separate occasions chasing each other on the wing through the trees and on
foot hopping around a tree.? I have not seen them since the large fire in the
nearby Lynnview Apartments.

Wilson's warbler.

Juvenile cedar waxwing (yesterday 9/14).

Mystery bird which I think may be a yellow warbler (9/14).

Black-throated gray warbler (9/14), a first for me.???

Kingfisher (9/14).

Wood ducks.? The three juveniles have adopted the habit of their neighboring
mallards and?swim up to the viewing point and floating dock inthe hopes of
getting some bread tossed their way. ??

Whenever I see any of the maintenance staff on the grounds, I compliment them on
what a good job they do keeping up the heavily used park.? I hope park
maintenance?does not fall victim to the budget cuts the city of Lynnwood is
facing. ?
