Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 23. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On September 21 a BLACK STORM-PETREL was seen off Lincoln County. A LESSER
SAND-PLOVER was at Bandon Marsh during the week.

On September 15-16 birds at Fields included a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER,
BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA, and a BROAD-WINGED HAWK. At Malheur
NWR Headquarters September 16-17 were a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, female INDIGO
BUNTING, and a BALTIMORE ORIOLE. An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was at the
Narrows September 16.

Conspicuous movements of TURKEY VULTURES, SWAINSON?S THRUSHES, and EVENING
GROSBEAKS were noted during the week. Up to 306 WHITE PELICANS are now in
the Portland/Sauvie Island area.

On September 20 a MOCKINGBIRD was in Brooking and two PARASITIC JAEGERS were
at nearby Lone Ranch State Park. A BLACK-NECKED STILT was at the Gold Beach
Boat Basin September 19. An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was at Tenmile Estuary in
Coos Co. September 14. Two AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS were at Yaquina Bay
September 19. Up to two PARASITIC JAEGERS were at Yaquina Bay during the
week. Up to 98 COMMON TERNS have been at the Necanicum Estuary at Seaside. A
PARASITIC JAEGER and several CASPIAN TERNS are also there. Four ARCTIC TERNS
and a POMARINE JAEGER were at the South Jetty of the Columbia River
September 20. An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was there September 18.

On September 20 a SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was at Ridgefield NWR. Up to four
POORWILLS were at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland September 22. A RED-NECKED
GREBE was at Koll Marsh in Beaverton September 22. On September 18 a
PARASITIC JAEGER was at the Sheridan Sewage Ponds. A WRENTIT was heard
September 18 in Salem?s Minto-Brown Park. On September 20 an immature
PARASITIC JAEGER was at Fern Ridge Reservoir. The next day an adult
PARASITIC was there. On September 22 a SABINE?S GULL was at Fern Ridge.

On September 17 a COMMON LOON, RED-NECKED GREBE, and several EARED GREBES
were on Haystack Reservoir near Madras. On September 18 a PARASITIC JAEGER
was at the Redmond Sewage Ponds. A flock of about 100 WHITE PELICANS was
seen September 17 over John Day. That day a BLUE JAY was reported from
Juntura.
