LINCOLN'S, WHITE-CROWNED, GOLDEN-CROWNED (1) SPARROWS foraging in large flock near "hairpin turn" on Kiwa Trail at Ridgefield NWR this a.m. (9/24/10). SAVANNAH, SONG SPARROWS also in flock. GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE (30) on Rest Lake. Huge flocks of BARN SWALLOWS over lake; smaller flocks of VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS elsewhere.

Reminder: Kiwa Trail at heart of refuge will be closed to birders, other pedestrians for next seven months after Thursday (9/30/10).
