Took advantage of the beautiful day and went to Tokeland with Marian. Of course the weather changed once there, with some rain along the ocean. However, did find the adult Bar-tailed Godwit with about 250 Marbled Godwits at the dock roost by the marina. About 10 Willets and several Long-billed Dowitchers were mixed in as well. A surprise for me was viewing 6 Scrub Jays flying together through the housing near the marina. Do they hang out in Tokeland now or were they some transients passing through? Met Dennis Duffy and his wife in Westport. He said he had viewed another Bar-tailed Godwit in flight with Marbleds near the Marina in Westport where godwits sometimes roost. He mentioned that this one was more gray or lighter in color than the adult at Tokeland.
