Please if anyone has found any of the Skagit Co rarities Gary Bletsch
mentioned, please share them by post here to Tweeters. Each of
those (Brewer's, Clay-colored, Vesper Sparrows, Palm Warbler)
are in the single digits for Skagit County records/reports over
time. (Brewer's has just two entries, for example).

Over the weekend I was mostly tied up with fall-ball but had a few
fall migrants:

BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER 1 (new yard bird Tiny's Lane n. Lake
Stevens, flyover heard only, 9/25)
Swainson's Thrush 1 (yard eve 9/26, not late yet but getting close)
CHIPPING SPARROW 1 (at east end Bryson Rd, just north of
Darrington off 530, south-central Skagit Co, where a bird present
this last mid-July).

Also, a probable Rough-legged Hawk was seen close to dusk
nearing Jim Creek Rd east of Arlington last night, but the view
was too fleeting, by car. It is a bit early as well.

Also, a behavioral & migrant highlight over the south meadow at
Discovery Park in Seattle. Last Friday 9/24, at noon or just past,
there were two N. HARRIERS with a Cooper's Hawk circling
very low (like 15 feet above the ground) in a tight circle. Seems
like harriers aren't easy to find inside the city limits.
