I live in a very forested area (compared to the city) and have juncos
all year long. We are also a bit higher than most hills nearby. I
assume the elevation and greenery have a lot to do with them being
here. We enjoy the young juncos all summer long.

As a note, we had a merlin at our swift count on Saturday night. It
wasn't bothering the swifts, which numbered 850 that night.
