Hi everyone,

Well, my (or perhaps Snoqualmie's) Lewis's Woodpecker karma continues.? (I have seen several of these birds in King County over the last two years.)? Why say this...

Well, between 11:30 and 11:40 am this morning?I watched a Lewis's Woodpecker actively flycatching from a utility pole almost directly behind the Snoqualmie Post Office (there is an alley that goes behind the PO,?and the alley?is the access road?that circles?the post office.

I do not remember the name of the street the PO is on but if you are coming down the main drag (Hwy 202, Railroad Ave.) from the direction of Snoqualmie Falls, you turn right on the first street after the RR depot on the right (a Methodist church is on the other corner from the RR depot).? Just down that street a block on the right is the new Snoqualmie City Hall and immediately past that on the left is the alley you turn into to circle the PO, and where the pole is located.? Parking is a challenge here, and the street is closed past the PO, so you may need to park on a side street.

I got at least five minutes of video on the bird, unfortunately it was backlit quite a bit but should clearly show the silhouette and the unmistakable flycatching flight profile at least briefly.? I've done a lot of photography, but am essentially brand new to video, so need to figure out how to edit the video down and post it to YouTube.? When I figure out how to do that, I'll post the video.d

I hope it hangs around for those who wish to chase it.
