This spring (May/June) there was a Dark-eyed Junco nest in Montlake (a block or two from the play fields, Seattle) - it is occurring to me I don't see as many around my home, a couple blocks from Lk. Wash., during the summer, but do see them year-round -

I would venture a guess that those who do not see the juncos in the summer are in more urban locations which get some of the winter birds but for whatever combination of location and available habitat don't see them in the summer months.? They are definitely around, however. ?
