After August things quieted down considerably out here in Ocean Shores and I
returned to the computer for some catching up. But in my trips to Sea-Tac I
have seen a few remaining Turkey Vultures, 1 on 9/15 at Brady and 6 on the
23rd over newly-cleared forest near the Humptulips River at Hwy 109.

Beginning the evening of the 26th I began to hear the first large flocks of
Greater White-fronted geese flying over my house, headed south...and that
continued through yesterday, the 28th. I didn't hear any duing the night and
have not heard any today. After hearing them so frequently it seems strange
to have that abrupt cutoff. They were very low during the first days due to
low clouds and fog, but yesterday's flocks were very high against the blue
sky and sunshine.
