Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On September 24 a NORTHERN WHEATEAR was seen on the North Spit of the
Coquille River. It stayed only a couple of days. A BROAD-WINGED HAWK was
seen September 28 passing over Mt. Tabor in Portland.

TURKEY VULTURES and WHITE-FRONTED GEESE staged conspicuous migratory
movements over Oregon during the week. SCRUB-JAYS were reported during the
week from many areas along the coast where not usually seen. A SHARP-TAILED
SANDPIPER was seen September 23 at Bandon but it did not remain. A SABINE?S
GULL was at the Siltcoos River mouth September 25.

A possible CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen September 25 near the South Jetty
of the Siuslaw River. On September 25 a LEWIS?S WOODPECKER was near Toledo.
That day a PARASITIC JAEGER and seven COMMON TERNS were at Tillamook Bay. A
PALM WARBLER was seen September 22 in Seaside. Over 100 MARBLED GODWITS were
at the Necanicum River mouth in Seaside September 26.

A couple of ACORN WOODPECKERS were at Oaks Bottom in Portland during the
week. On September 26 a family of two adults and four young WHITE-TAILED
KITES were seen near Sheridan. Up to three SABINE?S GULLS were at Fern Ridge
Reservoir during the week. An ARCTIC TERN was there September 27.

On September 25 a group of five LONG-TAILED JAEGERS passed the Green Ridge
Raptor Station near Camp Sherman. That day five SCRUB-JAYS were in a yard 15
miles south of Burns.
