Hi Tweeters,

This morning around 11-noon, Henry Noble and I saw a Northern Shrike at Montlake Fill. It was initially in the shrubs near the path at the Main Pond, then moved near the Southeast Pond. It gave great views to us and a happy photographer. Also we saw large numbers of Violet Green Swallows, many Common Mergansers on the lake, and the first Savannah Sparrow of the year for us. Nice morning!

By the way, we just got back from a trip to chilly Toronto, where by far the most numerous ducks we saw on the edges of Lake Ontario in city parks were Long-Tailed Ducks. Seems quite different from their habitat around here.
