Tweeters,

We've had a Slate-colored Fox Sparrow around the feeding area in the yard
for at least a week, visiting intermittently. Presumably Washington
breeding subspecies schistacea. Grayish head and neck to upper back, fairly
rusty lower half, and almost blackish heavy spotting in central breast. A
much brighter looking bird overall than the Sooty Fox Sparrows in the yard.

Immature Harris's Sparrow that's been around since late Nov. '10 is now
molting in new black feathers on head, which is losing its exquisite buffy
look, and throat formerly white is now all black. It has also sung
occasionally in recent days.

Good birding, Bob
