Hi all,
I spent the weekend around the old home range. Not much birding time, but did get out a little bit. Here are the highlights:
Elma/Satsop foothills: SOOTY GROUSE (vocalizing - none seen) on Sunday morning
Workman Creek Road: TURKEY VULTURE, BARRED OWL (one series of hoots in the middle of the day), RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER, HUTTON'S VIREO (singing)
Wenzel Slough Road: PEREGRINE FALCON (two - with one chasing the other), NORTHERN SHRIKE
It was great to get see some of the more common westside birds once again. Next time back will be for the Grays Harbor Shorebird Festival - see you there!
