Looks like the Hooded Merganser is using our Wood Duck house, along with the Wood Duck, again this year. A pair of Hooded Mergansers will stay close to the waters edge and wait for the Wood Duck to fly out, then in she goes. I don't know which one incubated last year, but it looked like there were both kinds of egg shells in the nest and one unhatched Hooded Merganser egg.
