Hi, Tweets

Turkey vultures are on their way north to their various nesting and
summering sites. April should see a much bigger influx. I've never
done a spring study at Salt Creek, but I'm told that the vultures are
crossing to Vancouver Island from there every day or so. Here are the
March reports from Washington and Oregon for 2011:

03 -- 1 over Port Angeles
09 -- 1 over Priest Point Park, Olympia
13 -- 1 at Electric City; 1 at Coulee City
17 -- a kettle of 6-8+ over Port Angeles; 1 at Battle Ground; a
"trickle" by Port Angeles over several days; 2 over Port Angeles

20 -- 1 over Beacon Rock State Park; 1 low over the Enumclaw Plateau;
2 over the Hood Canal Bridge; 4 over Steigerwald Lake NWR
21 -- 2 north of Silverdale
23 -- 1 between the Columbia River/Troutdale area, Oregon; 1 east of
North Bend; 2 foraging north of Carnation; 16 near Salt Creek; 3
making lazy circles in the sky north of Silverdale; conspicuous
movements all week throughout Oregon
24 -- 4 soaring over Brady
