Your comment about?a red-tailed hawk jogged my memory.? Last year while
walking?down the Meadowdale Park?trail to?the beach, I?photographed a?red-tailed
hawk being chased by crows.? The hawk was not leucistic, but?its underside
(wings and breast) were very?white. ?

I don't consider osprey to be completely white either, but one might appear that
way to an inexperienced birder who caught a fleeting glimpse.

Thanks to everyone who replied regarding the report of the white eagle.? I
already told the person who reported the bird, whatever it was, about the fairly
remote possibility of it being a leucistic Red-tailed Hawk.? I will mention
Osprey as another possibility.? I certainly would not describe an
Osprey?as?completely white when seen from below, but?you know how different
people,?especially non-birders,?can describe the same bird in different ways.
