Hi All: Getting off the ferry this morning at Pt Defiance I heard a meadowlark singing. It was not someone with an iPod but a lone meadowlark perched on a Scots Broom on the pile of dirt to the east of the terminal (100 m E of the Tacoma Yacht Club building). Got some terrible pictures but the camera recorded the call in video mode. I saw and heard one about 20 years ago out at Granny's Attic on Vashon, but none since. Also of note on the bike ride through Ruston were both Pugetensis and Gambel's white-crowns singing in one yard as well as golden-crowns and scrub-jays (calling). Pugetensis white-crowns were also singing on Vashon.
