Subject: [Tweeters] Request for heron sightings and eagle nest location at

I'm hoping that someone on Tweeters can help us. We need to know the
locations of the closest Bald Eagle nests to the Black River colony in
Renton. We've seen lots of roosting/perching activity at Black River so they
are nearby but we don't know just how close their current new nest is. Their
new nest replaces the one at the edge of the colony that was destroyed about
this time last year when the branch it was on crashed to the ground.

We suspect the new replacement nest is up on the hillside, adjacent to and
north of Black River. One possible location would be their old nest site
above the quarry and adjacent to the apartment complex.

Also, if you've visited the colony in the last week or so, please let me
know if you've seen herons in their nests across the pond. Be sure to
include when you were there (date and approximate time). Thank you!

Suzanne
