Debbie and whoever,
I, too, miss that Northern Cardinal from my Midwestern days in Omaha, Nebraska.
They and those Blue Jays were thick as thieves in our backyard and
neighborhood. Lot of memories. We used to recycle our Christmas tree in the
snowy yard and it would be a great bird feeder hung with suet. Thanks for the
note. Lately, my morning alarm has become the call of the Titmouse and Crows
and our Scrub Jays all scolding each other. What a racket.

One thing I miss fom my Midwest childhood is the song of the Northern Cardinal.
When I was shopping birdsong ringtones, I chose the Cardinal because I knew I
would never mistake the ringing of my phone for the sound of a nearby bird.
Well, over the last few days, I have been reaching for my phone, fooled by the
spring bird chorus background to the Masters Tournament broadcast. It's
fabulous! How can those golfers keep their minds on the game?
