Hi Tweets,

I took a trip up north today because the weatherman said there was less chance of rain. He didn't mention snow! When I arrived in Bellingham there was about 1" of snow on the ground and the emergency vehicles were very busy. Luckily I didn't need their assistance. It cleared off very quickly and turned out to be a pretty nice day, although very cool for mid April. My goal was to locate the earlier reported Whimbrel in Semiahmoo, and the Eared Grebes in Blaine. It didn't happen! However I was very pleased with what I observed. In Blaine at the Marina there were many Horned Grebe in Breeding plumage as well as a pair of Long-tailed ducks. At Semiahmoo there was a lone FOY Black-bellied Plover as well as FOY Western Sandpipers. I also observed a pair of Black Oystercatchers but they left the scene just before I could snap a photo :-( Can't win them all.
