Hi Tweeters,

I had some success with shorebirds late this afternoon (4/16/11) in the
Woodland Bottoms. Six each of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and DUNLIN were in a
seasonal pond in a bare field along Dike Road about 0.6 miles south of the
"T" with Dike Access Road.

On Kuhnis Road about 0.3 miles south of Whalen Road there were 12 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS with 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS and 1 RED-NECKED PHALAROPE all playing
hide-and -seek in the grassy edges of this large pond. Also from this
location I heard CALIFORNIA QUAIL call, a species I haven't personally
encountered in the county in a couple years.
