hi ... Gene and I headed to Woodland Bottoms this afternoon hoping to
find what you guys found ... ended up seeing nearly 30 species, nice
variety ... we found a flock of shorebirds at least 20 strong at what
I assume is the pond you all described, but I couldn't get good
optics on the birds with just the binocs ... some had dark
underbellies tho, which I assume were the Dunlins ... one had a brown
neck down to his chest ... I'll need to see if I can enlarge my
images enough to tell what it was ...

we saw nothing at the other pond you described ...

however, working the fields opposite the Lewis River we had our
"highlight" of the trip ... a Northern Shrike !!!!!!!!!!! ... our
other "highlights" were Caspian Terns fishing (and catching), 5
Turkey Vultures sitting on a farm's fenceline, and a noisy flock of
Eurasian Collard Doves hanging out at a different farm ...
